Letter from Placerville, signature indecipherable. Account of sea voyage to Calif., with description of stop in Isle of Gemara
(?) and women loading coal on the ship. Talk of agricultural abundance in California and of life at the mines, particularly
the financing. The letter was sent with a copy of the Miner's Ten Commandments which has been detached.
